While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world.\u2019<\/i> (John\u00a016:33\u00a0CEV)  Life keeps handing us problems that test our faith. How do you know how much weight a bridge can handle? By testing it. <\/p>\n<p> Daniel\u2019s success made him a target. Knowing he prayed regularly, his enemies persuaded King Darius that all prayers should only be made to him as the king. Yet Daniel kept praying each day\u2014in front of an open window! When the king heard about it, he threw Daniel into a lions\u2019 den. But God turned the tables. The next morning when Daniel came out, his enemies were thrown in. Then the king announced, <i>\u2018Daniel\u2019s God\u2026 is the living God.\u2019<\/i> (Daniel\u00a06:26\u00a0CEV) <\/p>\n<p> Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship the king\u2019s idols. Even when they were warned to bow or burn, they said, <i>\u2018God\u2026 is able to deliver us\u2026 But if not\u2026 we will not serve your gods.\u2019<\/i> (Daniel\u00a03:17\u201318\u00a0ESV) And because they walked by faith, God delivered and promoted them. <\/p>\n<p>Facing Goliath, David refused to wear the king\u2019s armour. He said, <i>\u2018I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them.\u2019<\/i> (1\u00a0Samuel\u00a017:39\u00a0KJV) So what<i> did<\/i> he go with? <i>\u2018The name of the Lord\u2019<\/i> (1\u00a0Samuel\u00a017:45\u00a0KJV), and the rest is history. <\/p>\n<p> The chances are you will never find yourself in a lions\u2019 den, a fiery furnace, or facing a giant, though some days it will feel like it.
